He considers every tour an adventure and a chance to share his passion for the ocean with visitors from around the world.Captain Russ is more than just a captain — he’s a true waterman with a passion for the Florida Keys that runs as deep as the ocean itself. After moving to the Keys with his family in the late 1970s, Russ quickly developed a love for the water, getting his first sailboat at just nine years old and his first motorboat at eleven.
From Key West to Key Largo, Captain Russ has spent decades exploring every corner of the Florida Keys, becoming an expert on the waters, wildlife, and hidden wonders of the Everglades. He’s dived with sharks, swum with dolphins, and crossed paths with sea turtles, manatees, and countless other creatures beneath the surface.
Russ has a unique relationship with the animals of the Keys, claiming he’s on a first-name basis with the dolphins, manatees, turtles, and birds of the Upper Keys. For him, every tour is a chance to share his knowledge and passion for this beautiful ecosystem with guests from around the world. As he likes to say, “I’m on vacation with every person who steps on my boat, and I’m truly living the dream.”
