Captain Dave is a true South Florida native and a multigenerational boat captain with a deep-rooted love for the water. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant ecosystems of the Florida Keys, Dave developed a passion for fishing, wildlife, and conservation from a young age. Known by many as “The Professor”, Dave’s tours are as educational as they are adventurous, often described as the equivalent of two credit hours in red mangrove ecology.
Dave’s commitment to preserving the Everglades goes beyond just guiding tours. He volunteers with the National Park Service on invasive species removal projects and regularly assists with wildlife rescues. His experience includes working as paid staff at the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center and supporting the Marine Mammal Conservancy, where he gained hands-on experience caring for injured and orphaned animals.
Whether he’s pointing out a rare bird in the mangroves or helping an injured osprey back to health, Captain Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep respect for the natural world to every tour. His passion for conservation and education makes every trip not just a tour, but an unforgettable learning experience.
